More book news today… and for once, it’s actually about my book! After a busy weekend, I’m just over half-way through my final polish of the manuscript before sending it back to my editor and publisher. Things have been going smoothly enough, but occasionally I get a page like this one: That’s not a polish, that’s industrial cleaning.
I’m back in the saddle again. Following delivery of Amy’s notes and edits on the manuscript last weekend, we then exchanged some long emails addressing various matters arising. Final, tiny polish before submission tomorrow: exorcising last remaining anglicisms. I found one “pavement” and seven “autumns”. Damn. Thank God for search and replace. Scratching my head trying to think of other tell-tale signs…
Much frenetic emailing between yours truly and Bruce the Agent. BtA had a couple of technical issues he wanted to see addressed. (I’m guessing he had some traumatic encounters with Baptists at some point in his life.) All good points, though, hopefully accomplished without too much pain.
