Just before I left for Chicago, I popped into Get Lost Bookshop and bought The Deptford Trilogy by Robertson Davies for something to read on the train (and, as it turned out, during the three hour delay at the station at La Plata, MO.)  I was delighted to discover that one of the characters in the first novel, Fifth Business, is a magician.

I love magic.  I used to be completely obsessed by it when I was younger.  The hero in my second novel was an amateur magician.  None of which is especially relevant to anything, save as to act as an excuse for sharing this with you, which made me giggle:
